MAias Alyamani
Violinist - Composer - Producer

MAias is considered one of the foremost Arab artists of today.
He has performed and shared his music all over the world with such leading soloists as Daniel Barenboim, Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer ; Orchestras such as Wiener Symphoniker, Kremerata Baltica, Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Deutsche Kammer philharmonie; And leading Jazz/World music artists like Joe Zawinul, Dave Pierce. Notable appearances as soloist includes Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Konzert Haus in Vienna, Konzert Haus in Berlin, Boulez Saal in Berlin. MAias received high-profile commissions to compose music for Inauguration of Damascus Opera House in Damascus, Arab Olympic Games Opening in Doha among many others.

In 2006 Maias established a flexible music group "MAqam Ensemble" in Vienna, specializing in classical Arabic music. Since its inception the ensemble had enjoyed tremendous success in Europe and the Middle East having performed over 200 concerts in 31 countries, amalgamating classical Arab music traditions with the Western performance practice, with the underlying idea of bringing Arab music to broader audiences.  MAias successfully built a large following whilst popularizing classical music in the Arab world through own compositions. MAias is a prolific recording artist and has released a number of albums commercially. In 2013, his album "Offstage" was the 2nd best selling album in Qatar.

Overseen by Winton Marsalis and collaborating with Dominick Farinacci and other JALC artists, MAias has curated "Arabic Nights at Jazz at Lincoln Centre Doha” in 2014 &15 presenting Arabic music fusions to new audiences . Since 2016 MAias collaborates with composer Dana Alfardan; working on many musical projects such as soundtracks for Qatar Airways, album of Asala Nasri, album of Qatar Museum, and 25th Qatar open tennis - tournament final ceremony.

MAias earned his Master's Degree at the Vienna University of Music and Performance Arts in solo violin performance, and is a regular invitee as a lecturer in Arabic music at music universities like in Vienna, Berlin, Lyon, Rom, and Genova.
